Thank you for visiting The Energy of Conversation, an enterprise dedicated to learning and improvement based just outside Brighton. I provide training, auditing, coaching and speaker services to businesses and educational establishments. I also take on bespoke consultancy work. On this page are references from my past career, while more up to date references are on my Testimonials page. I will tell you a bit about my background.

I spent 20 years in the research industry as a manager who trained, mentored and coached staff. Over the years I have learned to appreciate and understand the difference between these approaches and how they fit into the role of the business leader. In the early 90s at IRB I trained call centre staff in market research interviewing skills, before later training individuals to write software scripts using logic statements.

Prior to this time I had been teaching guitar at an adult education institute and I believe this contributed to my understanding of not only the way that we learn but what motivates us while we learn. As my career developed I became Board Director in an SME heading up two call centres in Newport, Wales & East London.

In 2001 I joined GfK and was the budget holder for “Centel” a call centre based in the south west of England. With the support of a strong team I introduced several initiatives which culminated in turning a sizeable deficit into a sizeable profit.

I then spent over 3 years at global research giant TNS, where I became Quality Director for c. 600 staff, working closely with the L&D Dept as a corporate coach, speaker & trainer.

To conclude I am a highly motivated professional with a broad business and technical understanding alongside a sound working knowledge of quality standards ISO 9001, 14001, 20252 and 27001.

My qualifications include Lead Auditor Certificates in Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environmental Management (ISO 14001) & Information Security Management (ISO 27001) with Diplomas in Corporate/Executive Coaching and Personal Performance Coaching. I am also a chartered member of the Chartered Quality Institute.
